Due to increased demand and continued investment in cutting-edge machinery, they are looking for an experienced Operator who can confidently run CNC laser equipment, punch presses, and other fabrication machinery. Roles & Responsibilities (But not limited to):
- Operate CNC flatbed lasers and punch presses to produce precise sheet metal components.
- Run a variety of manual and automated machinery to manufacture both standard and bespoke products.
- Maintain excellent quality standards, carrying out regular checks to ensure all output meets specification.
- Work closely with Supervisors, Managers, and Quality Control teams to communicate progress, issues, and improvements.
- Follow internal processes and complete all required production documentation accurately.
- Keep your workstation clean, organised, and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.
- Adhere to safety procedures at all times and wear the correct PPE.
- Support colleagues when required and contribute positively to team objectives.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Previous experience in engineering or sheet metal manufacturing.
- Competent in operating CNC machinery (ideally Trumpf or Mazak).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing practices and 5S principles.
- Basic IT literacy for recording and completing documentation.
- FLT licence desirable, but not essential.
Skills & Attributes:
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet production deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Commercially aware with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload efficiently.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude.
Benefits:
- Competitive pay rate: £13.00 – £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Approx. 37.5 hours per week, typically over 4 days
