Installation Engineer Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career within installation, electrical, audio visual or data cabling. No previous industry experience is required as full training will be provided.

Working alongside an experienced Lead Installation Engineer, you'll help install communication and safety systems in schools, colleges, healthcare facilities and commercial buildings nationwide. If you enjoy practical, hands-on work and want to learn new skills while travelling across the UK, this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Role

As an Installation Engineer Assistant, you'll work as part of a two-person installation team, supporting projects from start to finish while developing valuable practical skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the installation of communication and safety systems
  • Running and securing speaker, data and control cabling
  • Installing speakers, microphones, control panels and associated equipment
  • Supporting equipment setup, testing and commissioning
  • Installing cable containment and trunking
  • Preparing equipment and materials before installations
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK
  • Working professionally within schools, healthcare settings and commercial premises

Essential

  • Full UK Driving Licence (or currently working towards obtaining one)
  • Good practical and hands-on skills
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Comfortable travelling across the UK and staying away overnight when required

Desirable

  • Experience using hand or power tools
  • Electrical, construction, telecoms or installation experience
  • Data cabling or AV experience
  • ECS or CSCS Card

Additional Information

  • Nationwide travel and regular overnight stays are required.
  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required due to the environments you'll be working in.
