Commercial Maintenance Electrician

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical maintenance, fault finding and reactive call-outs.

Working across a variety of commercial sites throughout the North West, you'll be responsible for diagnosing electrical faults, carrying out repairs and ensuring electrical installations remain safe, compliant and operational.

The Role

As a Commercial Maintenance Electrician, you'll be responsible for attending planned and reactive maintenance jobs across commercial premises throughout the North West.

This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring someone who is confident working independently, responding to call-outs and delivering a professional service to commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Attend commercial sites across the North West to carry out reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
• Respond efficiently to electrical breakdowns, emergency call-outs and maintenance requests.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across a variety of commercial buildings and installations.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine electrical inspections.
• Undertake electrical repairs, replacements and minor installation works as required.
• Inspect, test and maintain electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance with current regulations.
• Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
• Liaise professionally with clients and site representatives, providing clear updates on works undertaken.
• Complete job reports, maintenance records and relevant electrical documentation accurately.
• Work closely with the scheduling and operations team to ensure maintenance jobs are completed efficiently.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current electrical regulations, health and safety requirements and company standards.
• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle to a professional standard.

About You

We're looking for an experienced, reliable and technically capable electrician who is comfortable working across different commercial environments.

You'll be confident diagnosing faults, managing your own workload and representing the business professionally when attending client sites.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Fully qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience working within commercial electrical environments is essential.
• Strong experience in reactive maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs.
• Good working knowledge of current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
• Ability to work independently and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
• Experience working across multiple commercial sites.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of electrical health and safety procedures.
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience within Facilities Management or Building Maintenance.
• Experience carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
• Experience attending emergency and reactive call-outs.
• Knowledge of commercial distribution boards, lighting systems and associated electrical installations.
