Commissioning and Quality Engineer
GoFind Recruitment is delighted to be assisting one of our established clients appoint a Commissioning and Quality Engineer to play a key role in maintaining high standards across their projects nationwide.
With offices in Kirkham, this is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, field-based engineer to join a growing team and take responsibility for both the quality and commissioning of installations. The successful candidate will review completed and ongoing works, carry out quality inspections, identify and manage snagging and remedial requirements, commission systems prior to handover and provide technical support to installation teams when required.
You will play an important role in ensuring every project is delivered to the highest possible standard, working across a variety of customer sites and environments throughout the UK. This is a varied position combining quality control, commissioning, fault finding, hands-on remedial work and technical support, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys being out in the field and takes real pride in the standard of their work.
The Role
- Carry out quality control inspections on completed and ongoing installations
- Ensure all work meets required company and industry standards
- Identify, document and manage snagging and remedial actions
- Commission systems on site, ensuring full functionality before handover
- Investigate technical issues, faults and customer concerns
- Provide hands-on support with remedial works, adjustments and small installation tasks
- Offer clear and constructive feedback to installation engineers and subcontractors
- Support installation teams during key stages of projects where additional technical expertise is required
- Provide professional, customer-facing support on site
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, quality reports and commissioning documentation
- Occasionally support with technical surveys and site assessments
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience in a field-based engineering or installation role, ideally within one or more of the following areas:
- AV systems
- Data cabling
- PA/VA systems
- Security systems
- Communication systems
You will also have:
- Experience with commissioning, fault finding and troubleshooting
- A strong understanding of installation standards, cable management and system setup
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
- The ability to work independently and make confident decisions on site
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- A professional approach when representing the business on customer sites
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel across the UK
- Willingness to stay away from home when required
- Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- CSCS Card
- Experience working in education, healthcare or public sector environments
- Knowledge of IP-based systems or integrated communication platforms
- Previous experience with quality control processes or site inspections
- Experience carrying out technical surveys or supporting pre-installation planning
