Construction Estimator

GoFind Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering solutions across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator to join their expanding team, based within the North West with their head offices in Blackpool.

The Role

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of Mechanical, Electrical, and construction-related projects. You will work closely with the operations, commercial, and project delivery teams to support tender submissions and ensure projects are commercially viable from the outset.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong estimating experience within M&E, building services, or construction environments who is looking to join a well-established and forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for construction and MEP projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Producing accurate take-offs and pricing schedules
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tenders
  • Supporting negotiations and value engineering exercises
  • Assisting with project handovers to delivery teams following successful tenders
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of current market rates and industry trends

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, M&E, FM, or building services
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical & Electrical projects and construction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
