Deputy Manager

Our Client looking for a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership of our children’s residential home, in Scarisbrick, Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive service and play a key role in delivering high-quality care to young people.

About the Home

The home is a purpose-built bungalow set within private grounds, providing a safe and nurturing environment for up to two young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The home includes two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, staff office, sleep-in room, and an open-plan living space overlooking a large, tree-lined garden, along with a detached sensory room.

The service offers flexible staffing, including 2:1 support for solo placements and 1:1 at full occupancy, with both sleep-in and waking night staff. A specialist therapist also supports the home, delivering a range of creative and therapeutic interventions.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance. You will lead by example, support the staff team, and help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of running the home
  • Lead shifts and provide guidance to the staff team
  • Ensure care plans are implemented effectively
  • Promote a therapeutic, child-centred approach
  • Assist with compliance, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals

Requirements

  • Experience working in children’s residential care
  • Previous senior or team leader experience preferred
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Level 5 or willingness to work towards desirable)
  • Good understanding of Ofsted regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
