Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to recruit a Formulation Chemist to join their Blackpool-based operation.

Candidates from industries such as cosmetics, chemicals, personal care, fertilisers, or related manufacturing backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Role

You will play a key role within the business, supporting product formulation, quality control processes, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Working closely with internal teams, you will help ensure products meet both regulatory and quality standards whilst contributing to the development of innovative sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Support the formulation and development of new and existing products
  • Carry out quality control testing and inspections across products and processes
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards
  • Maintain accurate product specifications, batch records, and documentation
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and quality procedures
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse, production, and management teams
  • Monitor raw materials and finished products to ensure consistency and quality
  • Support investigations into non-conformance issues and corrective actions
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and regulatory requirements

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous formulation experience is essential
  • Experience within fertilisers, chemicals, cosmetics, personal care, or related manufacturing industries desirable
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 environments is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Looking to grow and progress within an expanding business

What’s On Offer
