Payment Operations Analyst

This role focuses on managing, monitoring, and optimising payment processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of payment systems, reconciliation, and financial operations.

This is a varied role and a great opportunity for someone that has a strong interest in crypto currency.

Roles & Responsibilities (But not limited to): 

  • Process and monitor daily payment transactions across multiple channels (ACH, wire, card, SWIFT, etc.) ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile payments and resolve discrepancies or failed transactions promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, treasury, customer service) and external partners (banks, vendors) to resolve payment-related issues.
  • Monitor payment operations for compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payment workflows, automate processes, and reduce operational risk.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reporting on payment operations metrics.
  • Responsible for monitoring payment levels across client platforms, escalating anomalies / suspicious volumes.
  • Responsible for internal investigations on potential fraud, platform manipulation, providing analysis to the leader team for any impact on the platform / funds.
  • Responsible for investigating pending transactions escalating to compliance where needed.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and ad-hoc projects related to payment operations.

Experience / Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in payment operations, financial operations, or similar roles.
  • Mastercard Connect / MasterCom expertise is crucial.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems and banking procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with payment platforms or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
