Project Quantity Surveyor
GoFind Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading engineering and construction business to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in their offices in Clitheroe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a well-established 13.7 million turnover organisation delivering complex projects across the construction, engineering, infrastructure and utilities sectors.
The Role
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider project delivery teams, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual management of projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for maintaining contract compliance, managing project costs, administering NEC contract procedures and supporting the successful delivery of projects within programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Provide commercial and contractual support across multiple live projects.
- Administer NEC contract processes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and requirements.
- Prepare, review and issue contractual notices, correspondence and supporting documentation.
- Raise, manage and monitor Early Warnings and Compensation Events, ensuring accurate records and timely resolution of commercial matters.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients and subcontractors to gather information and support commercial decision-making.
- Maintain project trackers, registers and reporting systems, monitoring programme performance and identifying potential risks or delays.
- Produce regular commercial reports, highlighting project performance, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications whilst monitoring valuations, payments and cash flow.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and change management activities.
- Maintain accurate and auditable project records, documentation and contractual files.
- Support defect management, project handovers and close-out activities.
- Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts, ensuring all variations, compensation events and contractual entitlements are fully captured.
- Contribute to project reviews and lessons learned exercises to support continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, engineering or utilities projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and contract administration.
- Experience managing Compensation Events, Early Warnings and payment applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and project reporting systems.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
